Oct 2002 I called about a litter of husky pups, I was looking for a female to bring into my life at a time when Isabeau, my 11 year old husky was losing her sight due to glaucoma and preparing me and herself for her next journey. She was very wise and knew I depended on her as much, if not more than she depended on me. I wanted her help with a new pup and she knew it was time to find her. When I called about the litter, the lady I spoke with said there was only one left, a female with brown eyes and very shy.
Everyone who came to see her didn’t want her because of those qualities. I said I want to see her and drove up that night. It was an hour drive up this long, winding dirt road. She was hiding under a chair and when I held this very big 8 wk old baby girl, I was so in love with her. Lilith grew to be a beautiful, social, amazing girl. She had double hip dysplasia @ 4 mths, I had that fixed, but due to her size (90 lb husky) she was in pain her whole life to some degree. But she was always happy, she was a funny girl and was always making me laugh. She continued to have bone and joint issues and at 5 yrs old I was forced to make
the hardest decision of my life.
She let me know she was done hurting and was ready to leave her broken body. I still miss those big brown eyes that you feel the love coming out of when she looked at you. My heart still crumbles at her absence. Her spirit is here with me, she has returned home in a smaller yet very active husky, Ada. And she is making up for not being able to run in her old body. I am very fortunate to have been able to experience a pets spirit coming back in a new body and
it is an incredible, magical journey.
I love my baby girls!
