The Greatest Breed of All

Forget everything you’ve heard about me.
You don’t really know who I am.
All you know is
that of my great-great grandpa’s past.
But I have something that
he didn’t have.
No its not the taste of human or animal blood.
It’s a Family that loves me
and takes care of me,
who is everything to me.
A family that I love.
There is nothing in this world
that I would throw that away for.
If you only knew how I think or felt,
you would know that I mean you no harm and
could be just as good as any other breed.
Try one thing for me…
I ask you just one thing, give me a chance.
Raise one like me just
as if he was your blood, your child,
your best friend.
Give me attention, love, hugs, kisses, affection.
You’ll see……..Not every Pit bull is evil and mean.
When you’ve tried this and
if anything goes wrong …..
I will give you my life, my heart, my all.
Just remember that not only in life will
I love you, but in death I will too.
For you might forget me,
but I will never forget you.
With all this said…..
I give you my bark and paw.
Then maybe you would be honored
to call my breed, your dog.
