Allie by Kate / Your Friend

Dear Allie,

We had 3 wonderful years together. I will never forget that first day I met you. You were small and helpless, lost without a mother. My family and I brought you home and you met Bailey, our collie. That first day, you two didn’t hit off so well, but after a while you grew to love him. You used to sleep with him and “torture” him. You loved to bite his tail. He would wag it out of enjoyment to watch you attack it. You two were a pair.

After we had to put him down, I didn’t know how you would take it. That day, I tried to let you two spend as much time together as you could. It was like you knew he was leaving. You wouldn’t leave his side. But then came the most unfortunant accident. You were let outside one day as usual, but you didn’t come in for a couple of days. We still sighted you outside and I would call you over and pat you. But you were so reluctant to stay outside. I tried, but you only scrambled away. I looked for you for months, our neighbors’ cats have been missing as well. We did spot a few coyotes and a few foxes in our area. Still there was no sign of you.

To this day, I look out in the backyard and hope and wish that you would come back. I miss you, my beautiful girl. You were so gorgeous. You had a certain charm that got to everybody. SO well behaved!! I only hope you and Bailey are together once again. Sleep well where ever you are, my dear friend.

Always on my mind,
Allie
