Amber by The Reynolds Family / Mam, Dad, Caroline, Victoria & Adam

Our baby Amber, you died aged 6 years and 10 months on the 2nd July 2003. You were so lively that morning. It hardly seemed right what the vet told us later that day.
You had been so unwell over the last few weeks worse than you had ever been, as you had always been a sickly dog, but never this sick.

After a scan it seemed one of your kidneys had completely given up and your other one was only working at 25%. Although the vet did say that you could survive with just the one kidney, you wouldn’t have a very good quality of life.

Then there was your liver results, these weren’t good at all. Following the vets advice we had you put to sleep. We knew it was the kindest thing to do when we found out how bad you really were, but saying goodbye was REALLY hard. You had become a member of our family and we loved you, that’s why you now rest in our garden to be close to us always. You really were something special, never destructful, never nasty, in fact a lot of your antics and your lovely nature made you nearly human. We’re really sorry Amber, you brought us so much during your short life. We miss you every day, your footsteps on the wooden floor, your snorts to get our attention, and the way that you used to sit and look at us when you wanted to go out. So many memories of such a short life. Sleep tight baby Amber.

Love now and always,
Amber
