A Little Story of our Angel

Angel came into our lives in June of 1990
quite by chance
as we hung out next to our apartment swimming pool.
A lady came into the pool area and said
she was looking for a home for her kitten.
For some reason that I still cannot explain
I said that we would take her.
As unprepared as we were for this
we bought all the necessary things and when the time came
had her spayed (thought it was the responsible thing to do).
We tried to make her a good home.
The first night that we had her
be both fell absolutely in love with her.
Colette's exact words were
"I love her already..." I agreed.
She played and ran around checking everything out.
Very very cute.
When we woke up the next morning
she was curled up sleeping between us.
From that moment on
she was our best friend.
Angel always slept with us because she decided
that we were worthy of it.
We enjoyed Angel's company for nine great years
and the single hardest thing
we have ever had to do was
make the decision to end her pain
after a short illness(stomach cancer).
Prior to this Colette told me
how Angel had kind of said
a final goodbye to her
by getting up the strength to jump
on the bed and curled up by her head.
Angel laid her head upon Colette's head
and it was at that moment Colette said
that she knew it was OK to let her go.
That was May 8th the day we said our goodbyes
and put her to sleep.
Goodbye Angel.
We will forever hold
your memory in our hearts.
