Annie lived to the old age of fourteen. We had rescued her from the pound as a puppy and was the companion to two of our dachshunds growing up (one which has passed, as well, and is also apart of this tribute site; Tasha). She always loved to play, whether it was fetch or little tricks, such as dancing with her family. Though she was much bigger than her dachshund siblings, she always wanted to be included in sitting on the lap, trying her best to be a “little” lap dog. She watched over her family and showed them
that she truly loved them.
On January 8th, 2008, we had to put her to sleep as her body was failing her and she couldn’t eat, thus becoming too skinny for her own good; though she was mentally alert and aware to her surroundings. We knew as well as she that her time was coming to an end quickly and we didn’t want her to suffer any longer. She was surrounded by family as she passed, held in the hands of her loved ones. She had a wonderful life and now she’s romping around, young again, in heaven – more than likely reunited with Tasha,
catching up on old times.
We love you, Annie, and miss you so much. You will always be in our hearts. We will meet and play again someday.
With Love Always,
| Annie |
