Cat

I said good-bye to my best friend today.

There was you see not another friend like her.

I know that she suffers no longer--her pain is over

but my pain has just begun.

I can remember that only a short time ago

she could wash my tears away with her funny little antics

and the love in her eyes.

The bond we had together was so incredibly special.

You see my best friend is gone.

I said good-bye to my best friend today.

It is hard to understand all of the emotions that I am feeling

and the great loss I am experiencing...

My little Ashley will always remain in my heart

and I will remember her in the fondest way

appreciative of our time together.

I miss her already.

I said good-bye to my best friend today

and she was my little cat.

Ashley and her littermate on this site Scooter Pie both died

within two months of eachother from FIP.

They were my very first cats

my very first "rescues" as a Freshman in college in Ashland Oregon.

They lived seven and a half years as indoor cats only.

Apparently genetically predisposed to the disease

there was not a thing I could do to save them.

Years later I am inspired to go to my journal

and submit what I had written the day

each of the siblings passed.

I am now "thirty-something"

and

the President of Meow Mercer Island Eastside Orphans and Waifs--

a nonprofit no kill cat and dog rescue group in the greater Seattle area.

God Bless the Animals
