AHLEY WAS A KEESHOUND I FOUND ONE RAINY SPRING DAY.
SHE ONLY HAD PATCHES OF FUR ON HER BODY HER SKIN
WAS IN HORIBLE CONDITION. SHE WAS QUITE OLD AND
I KNEW HER MEDICAL BILLS WOULD BE ALOT BUT
I DIDNT CARE ABOUT THAT. I KEPT HER.
SIX MONTHS AFTER I HAD HER SHE DEVELOPED BREAST
CANCER. SHE HAD A COMPLETE MASTECTOMY BUT 4 WEEKS
AFTER SURGERY SHE STARTED TO DEVELOPED TUMORS ALL
AROUND HER INCISION SITE AND BASICALLY ALL OVER.
THE CANCER HAD ALREADY SPREAD. MY APARTMENT TURNED
INTO A HOSPITAL FOR HER. I TOOK CARE OF HER AS IF
I WAS TAKING CARE OF MYSELF.
I PRAYED EVERY NIGHT THAT SHE WOULD JUST CLOSE
HER EYES A GO TO HEAVEN BUT SHE WOULDN’T.
I FINALLY MADE THE DECISION TO PUT HER DOWN.
SHE WAS SUFFERING. I FELT MY HEART WAS RIPPED
OUT O F MY BODY.
I ONLY HAD HER FOR A YEAR AND HALF
BUT IT FELT LIKE ETERNITY.
SHE ENDURED A HARD LIFE BEFORE I FOUND HER
AND I WANTED TO GIVE HER MORE THAN JUST A YEAR.
THIS WAS TWO YEARS AGO BUT SOMETIMES IT STILLS
FEELS LIKE THIS HAPPENED YESTERDAY.
I LOVE YOU ASHLEY,
UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN.
JENNIFER
