Golden Retriever

Aslan is missed so greatly. My husband and I

rescued him from the Houston SPCA a little over a year ago.

He was the cutest Golden Retriever puppy I have ever laid eyes on.

He was six months old when we got him.

Unfortunately he had sustained some awful abuse from his

previous owners which led to the reason we had to put him down.

We do have the happy memories of him proudly carrying two or

three toys in his mouth at a time diving into the swimming pool,

and playing hide and go seek with my husband.

We had been working with his severe aggression that surfaced soon

after we brought him home. We were working with a behaviorist to

help iron out the aggression problems. I'm sad to say that his

agrresion problems killed him.

About three weeks ago he viciously attacked my husband during

feeding time. He had my husband's arm in his mouth and was swinging

it back and forth pulling my husband across the living room floor.

Aslan eventually let go. My husband and I spent the next six hours in the

ER while his arm was being sewn up.

Chad had to have the muscle in his forearm stitched up under the skin plus

twelve other stitches on three other lacerations on his arm.

It was a mess. But the bigger mess was making the hardest decision

I have ever had to make. We had to put this perfectly healthy and

normally sweet dog to sleep.

We miss him so much-- his silly little antics and just the

energy he brought to this home with our other three dogs.

He was something special and we miss him like crazy.

It just seems to get harder and harder every day.

He was our buddy our playmate a soft loving pillow and a clown

with a constant smile and a constantly wagging tail.

Nothing could ever replace that sweet face.

We love him and miss him tremendously.
