Jessie by Heidi / Mommy

Jessie you are my baby
and I love you oh so much,
from the first time you ran across my feet
I needed your gentle touch.

We brought you home from the store that day
and Mommy said if she’s yours then she can stay.

From that day on you were my child,
my baby, my bubba girl,
A special gift sent to me
when my life was in a whirl.

I taught you to deal with
kisses and hugs from the first day,
flipping you over and making you stay.

You dealt with me calmly and didn’t run away,
it wasn’t so bad you let me love you this way.

I bought you your baby and thought you would play,
who knew it would become such a part of our day.

You’d carry it around and bring it to me,
and shake your little butt
when I’d drag it for you to see.

You always brought me happiness
when you knew that I was sad,
especially if you found me crying
about the bad day I may have had.

You’d meow in my face to try
and make me stop,
I’d pick you up and cuddle,
my tears you’d never mock.

We’d take walks around the courtyard,
on my shoulder you would sit,
greeting the neighbors or basking in the sun,
our routine, it just seemed to fit.

I never ever thought that you would get so sick,
I thought we had years, I expected it!

But now you are gone and the pain is so bad,
No one can understand the love that I had.

You were NEVER just a pet to me,
and I want to make sure
that the whole world can see….

You are in my heart forever more,
I’ll cherish your memory because you I adore!
