Lexi by Madeliene Eggleton / Nanny
ln 2007 Lexi came into the animal charity to be rehomed after her owner had passed away, she was thirteen and a half years old and l wanted to help her so gave her a home with me and my other rescue dogs. l went on holiday with my family and my dogs came along too, how they loved the big cottage in the countryside and the day trips to the seaside that week in 2008. This year Lexi’s eyesight and hearing worsened and then she began to act senile, confused, sleeping daytime, awake at night. She was at vets a lot and had tablets. The confusion worsened and it was thought she had a tumour on brain. Lexi was put to sleep while l stayed with her on llth november 2009 aged nearly l6 years. l told her she was going to be with her real owner now and no more being confused and no more restless nights. She was a little character and will never be forgotten.
Dylan by Madeliene Eggleton / Nanny
Dylan became mine in November 2003 after my beloved little chihuahua Kess was put to sleep. Dylan also a chihuahua was a little rescue who was kindly brought to me to ease my aching heart. He was sweet natured and loved everyone and everyone loved him. If he wanted to be held you had to say “pick up” and he would stand in a certain position
waiting to be lifted up.
He was always in my arms. In wintertime, he would lie in a bag on his blanket and be carried warmly that way. Night times Dylan slept on my bed, he was like a baby all wrapped up. He had rhinitis soon after he became mine, and was on tablets for that. Then during the end of 2008 and early months of 2009 he was forever at vets with different things, bladder stones, eye ulcers, an interception, dermatitis, the vets and nurses all thought he was such a lovely boy. He was losing weight, went from l.9 kg down to l.l kg over time and was anemic; he had a brilliant vet who was so kind and tried so hard, all tests were done, x-rays, scans and nothing showed up for Dylan to lose weight or stay anemic. I would stay up really late so that he would eat an extra meal a day.
Dyl went for his usual check up and he was weak and frail and after discussion between me and his vet and knowing he was never going to get better, my baby Dyl was put to sleep while I stayed with him. My heart is broken. I was told when the chihuahua rescue brought him to me that day five and a half years ago that Dylan didn’t have a nasty bone in his body and how I miss that lovely natured little boy.
It was thought he was about ll years old or more when he went to rainbow bridge and l know my late husband is looking after him for me. Dyl, I love and miss you so very much. You were always in my arms and
will stay always in my heart.

Seth by madeliene / Madeliene
Seth was an adult when he was rehomed to me. He lived in the house . He was a lovely natured boy. Suddenly he went off his food and his breathing was harsh and his body felt cooler than usual. l took him to vets that same day but the vet said Seth had a chest infection that had come on very quickly and would not get better. Little Seth was put to sleep. He was my first guinea pig. Miss you and love you Seth.
Lassie by madeliene / Madeliene
Lassie was a little rescue Chihuahua and she came to us as an adult in December l992. She was a real little character, visitors were watchful of her, small though Lass was, because she was quick to run at ankles.Lassie’s favourite people were my parents and my friend Sheila. These were the people she never showed her tiny teeth to. Lassie led a long and healthy life until recently when she became lethargic and went off her food and was found to be suffering from kidney failure. She didn’t have quality of life anymore and was put to sleep in my arms. Lass was about l6 years old. She will never ever be forgotten and will always be loved.Miss you already my Lass.
