Light A Candle in Loving Memories

Poppy joined our family on the 3rd of September 2004; she came from a young couple, who were board of the puppy they bought. As soon as we saw her we know that she was the one, her glossy black coat and her adorable face.
We took her home, she spent most of the time in the corner of the garden, but after a few days she came out of her shell and became my little darling. She was a beautiful black coated German Shepherd dog.
At the beginning of August 2005 she began limping in her front leg. We took her to the vets and they told us that she had elbow and hip dysplasia due to inner breeding. She had many health problems in including a serious eating disorder, where she could only eat a small amount of an expensive food made especially for her.
By the beginning of December the pain got really bad. She had a few operations (costing thousands!), of which none worked. They gave her more x-rays on her shoulder. They found a large tumor causing all the pain. We were so devastated.
The next Friday the most unwanted phone call came, the vet was crying over the phone telling us that the tumor was unremovable.
On the 11th of December, just two weeks before Christmas my little Poppy was put to sleep.
