Barry & Figit by Carrie

"Barry & Figit"

Our Hospital Cats

We have always had animals

who lived at our animal hospital

over the past 20 years abandoned by their owners.

We usually fell in love with them and made our clinic their home.

"Barry"

was a big goofy adorable grey cat

that was found one morning tied by a leash to our front door.

He quickly won our hearts and became the ultimate mascot.

His wonderful good nature and carefree attitude

warmed the hearts of the staff and clients.

He lived a happy life here until about the age of 16

when he developed diabetes.

Although he tolerated the insulin well

he developed a cancerous growth on his tongue

which was a cruel thing.

He needed lots of food and water and could not eat anymore.

We had to tearfully put him at rest this past fall.

"Figit"

was a petite little white tabby

who was left at our kennel while boarding.

She was so cute and lovable

we did not mind making her a part of our family.

Not the social director like Barry

she was very selective in who she thought

she would allow to get close to her.

She loved to tease the clients,

When no one was looking

she would put her nose up to the cats in carriers

to let them know she was the queen

and parade back and forth in front of squirming dogs

on the exam table to get a rise out of them.

But underneath her seemingly frosty exterior

she was truly a mush

and loved to be hugged and patted.

She had the softest fur I have ever felt

like rabbit fur.

She was my rabbit girl.

Today she passed away after finding

a malignant growth in her intestines.

We are all very sad today;

our little family is down to one wonderful kitty

and we miss our little ones so much.

They didn't belong to any ONE person

but to all of us who loved them.

Barry was 17 and Fidge was 13.

They did live long and happy lives here.

We will always look out for the "throw a ways"

the ones nobody else wanted.

We will be there for you in memory of Barry and Figit

who taught us that there is no soul on earth

who is thrown away and

you will always have a place here.

WE Love You And Miss You.
