Bootsie by Lisa / Mumma

You were abandoned by your mother and bottle-fed until you were strong enough to survive. When you first saw me, you immediately started rubbing on me. You talked to me when you were hungry, lonely, or just heard your name called. You were always willing to give your love.

If I was ignoring you, you would rub and head-butt me until I gave you love back. You reminded me that life was short and I should take advantage of every precious moment.

Then, you disappeared, and when I found you, you were very sick. I tried to make you better and hold onto you a little while longer, but you knew it was your time to go.

When we said goodbye, you purred for the first time since you had been sick. You were telling me it was OK to let you go. That you would be waiting for me when my time on earth has passed. Then, you went to sleep in my arms, a very quiet restful sleep. Suffering no more, and finally at peace.

You will always be in my heart, never to be forgotten. May you rest in peace and never suffer again.

Hugs, Kisses and Head-butts,
