Golden Lab
Brandy was a beautiful golden lab that belonged to my sister Ann.
She lived to the ripe old age of 15. She would give a big smile and wag
whenever anyone came near. She loved to swim play in the creek near
her home play in the snow and snuggle. During her last years she was
a blessing to me. I had a lab and terrier mix named Sugar who had to be
put to sleep at the age of 12. It helped so after my own dog's death to
have Brandy to hold and be close to in those lonely days after the death
of my own black and white lab. I am even more thankful for how she
blessed my sister in her last days. Her marriage of 17 years ended in
divorce due to her x-husband's affairs with at least 3 other women we found
out about-- and that is not to mention all the drinking and ugly name calling
directed to my sister. The best thing she ever did was to get rid of #*&%$**#
as we refer to the mean old jerk. Brandy was there to help my sister to help
her in the lonely days after her divorce. More than that my sister injured
her shoulder at work and had to have surgery. My sister stayed with
Mom and Dad until she was well enough to go home. During the hours of her
being in pain from her surgery, Brandy never left my sisters bedside.
She was there for her during her recovery from her surgery. My sister had
prayed God would let Brandy live long enough until she fully recovered
from her surgery. I think Brandy knew when my sister had recovered
because shortly after my sister had been released from her doctor
Brandy went into congestive heart failure and had to be put to sleep.
Now Brandy is at rest. My sister and I buried her in our parent's back yard.
I have the feeling now that Brandy is up in heaven looking down at us all as she
wags her tail and smiles. When I think of her I look up to the clouds now and
smile back at her.
