To Brandy my blond cocker spaniel
gone too soon
after 10 years as my best friend..
loved playing get the sock
running up the hill
in the park with her blond ears flying...
The feel of her nose pushing into my palm to be petted
the feel of her fur beneath my cheek.
Sitting on the back porch late at night
sharing deepest secrets.
Her cold nose the first thing in the morning..
When she hurt her back
I carried her up and down the stairs for 6 weeks...
her look..the indignity of it all
But we loved each other.
she left me after a short bout with cancer
very little suffering for her.
Just a sad goodbye look
and a tiny wag of that wonderful tail.
She will be in my heart forever.....
