Bruno was not an ordinary dog. He was my angel on earth. He always knew how to make me smile when I was feeling sad. He would look up at me with his big eyes and smile, he smiled so big. He was always so happy. Especially when the squirrels would chat with him from the trees above. He loved to chase squirrels. He loved going for walks by the river and just being able to run free on his grandpa’s land. He was a swimmer, I’ve never seen another dog that liked to swim quite like him. If there was water, he’d be in it.
We nicknamed him Beanie early on in his life because he had such bad gas, but it was funny whenever we’d call him “Beanie” he would wiggle and roll around. He also had a habit of sleeping in bed with me when my husband worked nights. He thought that was his place. He’d fall asleep so quickly and stay there all night. If you tried to move him, he’d just lived is head and look at you like “what are you waking me up for.” When my husband was at home he’d jump right in the middle of us, like any normal 3 year old child would.
Bruno was more like our child than a pet dog. He had so much personality. It is so hard to believe he is gone, he’s so young. He has two little sisters that he left behind that miss him so much. I pray that I will see him again on the other side, and that he’ll still be running around with the biggest smile and happy to see us.
Bruno, you hold such a special place in my heart that can never be filled, we shared some wonderful memories and I love you very much.
