Buck by Betty / Mom

Buck

Always there, always my boy, sweeter than any dog that has ever lived. My Buck. You were one of the pups in the first litter I bred. I loved you from day 1, you and Skeeter. Your Mom Lady took such good care of you until she died, way too soon. You had some health issues, I was always afraid that you would be the one to pass on at an early age, but it was in fact Skeeter who got cancer and died at 7, you my wonderful boy lived almost to 14. It was hard for you the last couple of months and I knew that I should end your suffering, but it was so hard to do. When you quit eating, I knew it was time, eating was your favorite thing in the world.

I decided that March 2nd would be the day. The day I had dreaded your whole life, but your love for me was greater than even I could imagine. You laid down and died peacefully in my arms on March 1st so that I didn’t have to do what I had dreaded for so long. Thank you for being the wonderful friend that you always were and sparing me that dreaded task. Rest well my boy, you earned it.

Take care of Jinks, Lady, Skeeter, Daesha, and Dekker and when the time comes, I am so looking forward to seeing you all again at the Rainbow Bridge.

I still love and miss you with all my love,
Buck
