” Cali ”

My cat Cali.

We had to put her to sleep back in September.

I really don’t know what exactly happened to my beloved Cali

she just got sick one day. All I DO know is that I miss her a lot.

It started this summer when my Mom told me Cali was sick

and that we had to take her to the vet. I didn’t think much of it

until a few months later the drugs she got weren’t working

as well as before. So my Mom took her in for X-Rays.

It took awhile for the results to get in but when they did..

I started to wish they never had. It turned out that one of her

vertebrae had been broken but an unknown cause

and was no longer in its proper place. Thus making her

digestive system stop working properly. Feces started collecting

inside of her and she couldn’t pass it right.

The veterinarian said we should put her down before the pain

gets too bad and her bladder exploded.

It tore me to pieces watching my cat drive away with

my Mom that day. I’d only had Cali for 5 short years,

but she taught me so much. Despite her snobby attitude

towards the family she had her ways of showing me how

to deal with things.

I miss her meows desperately but I know she’s still roaming

the house like the angel she always was and is still sleeping

at the end of my bed each night in between my feet.

I’ll never forget my Cali she stays in my heart forever.

This is my tribute to her.

Cali is the definition of a perfect cat.
