Jakob came to us when he was only 6 weeks old. The most adorable round puppy you ever saw. Jakob was a red-nosed staffordshire terrier. From the moment I laid eyes on him I knew he was a loving soul and I chose him from amongst all of his brothers and sisters. On the way home that day I sang the jingle “John Jakob Jingleheimer Schmidt” to him as he cuddled in my lap. That became “his song” and I sang it to him often throughout his life.
Jakob was a best friend to myself, my husband and our three boys. Jakob loved to play and to lie in the sun. He would smile, his lips sliding back to reveal this goofy grin. He was a gorgeous tan and white with the biggest brown eyes. We are so incredibly devastated at losing him. It hurts so much it feels like you can’t breathe. I wanted to honor him and how much he meant to us by submitting these tributes today.
Jakob died only yesterday and already if feels like the rest of our lives will take forever before we see him in heaven again.
Jakob, we love you and always will.
