I’ll always remember that look as I fed them…
In 2000 I met Poppy, a pretty Ferret. She dived into my heart and stayed there for years. She knew I was her Mama and at the sound of me saying,’Mama’s here!’ She’d come running to me.
In 2002, I was looking for food for Poppy and I soon came to realize that I was heading straight for the Ferret’s. I smiled as they all played around. In the end, I chose two. Both boys who were neutered.I named them Riggy (Rigs) and Chip.
I loved the way that whenever I fed them, they’d just look up at me and scamper to their feed bowls. I loved them dearly…
Then disaster struck. In 2007 Poppy became poorly and I decided to put her out of pain. For a while, Riggy and Chip were upset. I was too. Regrettably,in 2012, Riggs was diagnosed with cancer a week before he died. Because of his loneliness, Chip’s died in June.
Forever in my heart and memory,
