To my dear friend
Lady Bess
Within the chambers and corridors of that comfortable stately house,
One still expects to see that gentle most dignified countenance,
Her sister setters remain their love and faithfulness firmly intact,
But Lady Bess one of the sweetest souls ever found on earth,
Has answered the call that all creatures great and small surely must,
Departing this world taking with her a part of our hearts and minds,
The large adjacent yard too where the lady joined her sisters at play,
Portends to timelessness yet cannot deny so familiar an absence,
For the elegant loving lady enriched us beyond all measure,
Her endearing presence though missing has left a great legacy,
It is of the majesty of every life; the import of all the father's creations,
And of the spirit that remains to bring peace to one's heart a smile to one's lips,
With certainty we may assume that such a splendid irreplaceable child,
Has secured a place with God and the angelic hosts in the heavenly abode,
Where she walks in a tranquil flowering garden bathed in eternal sunlight,
Creating happiness within heavenly hearts as she did within our own,
And so Dear Bess while we grieve and try to understand our loss,
We know that you have found happiness of which we can only yet dream,
We shall miss you terribly reflecting often upon your love so freely given,
Believing fully that God's plan will reunite us someday to walk
together in that divine garden.
