Since I am allergic to dogs and cats
I decided to get a lizard in the year of 96.
WHEN I GOT Skeezix(a fat tailed gecko) I fell in love with him.
These lizards live for about 15 years!
From that day on I decided to get more until I had 5 geckos,
and what surprised me is that they each have different personalities !
Skeezix is an explorer he loves to explore.
Well about a month ago I noticed a lump on his leg and when I took him
to the vet he said he stepped on something sharp
(probably a dead cricket leg) and he got splintered after
the vet removed the splinter Skeemos leg got HUGE he got an infection.
We are trying everything right now to help him since he’s a lizard its
hard to treat the infection . The vet said he will probably die.
Skeezix is still living for now but I pray for him every day and
I’m afraid if to lose him. I cry every night and pray for him.
He’s not just a lizard he’s special to me.
It’s weird how us humans get so attached to our animals .
I’m scared to open the cage one day and find him ….. dead ,
I’m even crying right now and just the thought of opening the cage
when he’s gone and not seeing him is horrible.
I hope he survives this.
