I guess the hardest thing to go through is to watch a marvelous creature,
a member of your family grow old before your eyes –
and know you will in all probability outlive him.
Biggin lived 15 almost unheard of years unheard of because of the
large breed he was. Within one month he underwent two major surgeries
battled a chronic ear infection and had developed hip dysphasia.
He really did try to rally but I think he was finally too tired to fight
his failing kidneys.
To bring his life story out this way is such a help in dealing with the loss,
it makes us feel like we are doing something for him even though
we couldn’t save him.
Biggin had such a strong heart and such a brave spirit so much so
that we hope we can be as strong when our times come as he
was when his did. Our only regret is that we could not be there for
his final moments – I will always wish we could have been
together during that time.
We love you Biggin.
