Rufus came to us from a family who didn’t want him. He was “too much dog” for them. They dumped him at the ferry terminal, he was 9 months old. I’ve never had an airedale that was so full of love, life and fun. Rufus lived for games. He loved his games with his best friend and bad boy brother Teddy. They chased balls together, seagulls on the beach, they barked at deer and tore around the house like big dogs do. He always had a bark, and a kiss for you. He loved everyone, and everything. He left us too soon. He was only 5 years old when his great heart gave out. He died today at noon, on May 14, 2011. He died in our arms, peacefully. It was a gentle, peaceful walk to the other side. One day we will all be together. Until then. Rest in Peace Rufus. We will miss you,
but we will never forget you.

With love,
Joy and Tony Austin
