by Ken Burlingame / My Co-Driver

First let me tell you young lady that I am really mad at you!!.
All these years you opened the front door with your nose
went about your business outside and
pushed the door back open and came in the kitchen
and sat beside me or jumped up on the bed.

You always came right back in when I would call or whistle.
What possessed you to wander into so busy a street so late at night.
You tore my heart out I was frantic
searching for you all night long driving all over the neighborhoods,
walking the city streets looking and calling for you.

Penny I Love You More Than Words Can Say
and My Heart is Forever Broken and Sad and Lonely
Each Day And Night.
I Have Cried So Many Tears and My Love For You Never Wanes
You Are The Best Friend and Companion and Love
a Man Could Ever Want,
and I am Thankful You Were Mine To Cherish and Love.
You Were Such A Good Girl And I Miss You So
Please Forgive Me for Not Calling or Hollering Sooner.

I Love You “Shortgrass”

Dad
