For My Girls

Loving beating hearts by my knee

Terrier hearts my own welcoming committee

This was what my Mags and Bert were to me.

Maggie first bonnie blithe and gay

Special memories of my wedding day

Broken leg (she put her best foot forward!)

She simply wouldn't miss the party

Maggie truly adored it!

By the plate glass window she regally sat

The curtains her bridesmaid hat

Saying with her shiny gleaming eyes

"All this for me?! "You shouldn't have!"

"But for a broken leg? A wonderous prize!!

Then along came Bert-two for tea

Always barking "Hey ma! Look at me!"

What grand adventures they had. . . known

only to them. . .

Leaving their human mother to often wonder

and "a-hem"

They won their prizes made their "mum" so proud

Beauteous bullies stand out in a crowd

Heartfelt painful memories come so fast

The loving joy they gave will always last.

I will always miss the cold nose greeting

The tailwagging thumping sniffing greeting

But now my precious girlfriends are now waiting

by heavens gate

And my heart can hear them bark

"You will never be late but here we sit and wait"

"And mom-Heaven is a doggies' park!"

Thank you God for these doggies dear

Heavy is the heart and many are the tears

But we would do it all again in a flash

All the love dirt noise and fun passed so fast.

You are loved and sorely missed my bully girls.
