by Linda Schember / I love you, Mommy

Old English Sheepdog

My dearest Sammy you came to us almost nine years ago. I love you then and will always love you. You suffer seizure after seizure. I wouldn’t give up. We finally had your medicine stabilized. Through the years you had numerous seizures with us by your side. Holding you, loving you letting you know you will be ok. I know how you hated the mess you use to make. Your precious face told us how sorry you were. As mommy and daddy told you then it’s ok we don’t mind cleaning it up. There was nothing you could of done that would of disappointed us. God gave you to us; you were the most precious gift of life. Your big brown eyes always told how much love, joy and happiness you had to share. My best friend through thick and thin. I miss you more and more each passing day. I find myself looking in all your favorite spots, to find you gone.
I had you cremated as I promised you. I have you on my dresser with the portrait you and I had done while daddy was on the golf course. The mold of your paw a long side of you. You will be put to rest with mommy as I always told you. I never realized how much pain you where in. Sammy you were a brave one. Never cried always by my side. Daddy and I cry together. At night our bed is empty without you between us. You were the king of your castle right down to your king size bed. Life may go on, the memory of you will always be with us. You and I were inseparable. My heart will always have a missing link.
I picture you running and playing. Feeling no pain. I remember the week before you left us the two rainbows side by side. I know now why I seen them. Sammy I know some day we will meet at the rainbow bridge. I love you.
I had plenty of years with Sammy, although I would of like many more. I miss him so much. He gave us so much in life. I work my life around him he was so special. He touched so many lives. His two sisters, Jami and Keri, Grandparents, Friends, Aunts, Uncles, Neighbors, Neighbors children. For years we were know not as the Schember family, Oh the ones with the big beautiful Sheepdog. I had so many knocks at my door to come and see Sammy. He loved to run and play with the neighbor kids. They use to laugh as Sammy would chase them knock them over, He was always so proud. Never once hurt anyone. This was my special Angel. Now Sammy is my Guardian Angel.
