You were my first pet, my beloved little puppy. I remember how I came home from school one day to find out you had been hit by an oil truck. The vet was able to save you by amputating your leg. You never let that get you down. As I reminisce a past that can never be reclaimed, I realize now what an inspiration you were, my darling, for all those who have some type of handicap.

You were by my side throughout the years my pal, my companion. We grew up together, you and I. I married, got pregnant, at the same time you were diagnosed with a brain tumor. It was a difficult decision, but understand, I had to let you go. I feel that I was so wrapped up with the birth of my baby, I didn’t mourn you as you deserved, so, Here it is, 40 years later, my love, and you are still in my heart. I love you, Susie. Til we meet again.

With all my love
