Tears weld up from my heart
you are not here for me now
we will be apart
this I just can’t allow.
I take in a breath of air
“I will be okay”
though it is not fair
I must get through the day.
You may be gone
and I know
but it is best to carry on
for doing this my strength is sure to show.
