The Second Goodbye

Though you think is the last we’ll see
Still your tears, do not weep
Again you’ll find me in another space
In your dreams, you’ll see me face

In that dream I am well again
Running, playing, as I had once been
I came to you to ease your heart
One last time, before we part

But look at me! Look at me!
Can’t you see?
When last was I so giddy…
So happy and so free?

For this is how I really am
Remember me not now, but then!
This dream is but a visit
Take comfort in this gift

For in this life we met and loved
What luck, what fortune, we both won!
In the end we both fought and tried
And I thank you, in this Second Goodbye

For Puss
1984-2005
I will miss you forever
