Puddy was my Mom’s cat. She was given Puddy by a friend of my sister’s daughter. My Dad had recently died in ’97 and my Mom was left all alone after almost 57 yrs. of marriage. Puddy filled a lonliness void for Mom. He was a big boy, playful and just beautiful, a gray and white muscular cat with extra long white whiskers. He loved my Mom so much. He slept with her every night and would wake her by rubbing his nose against her cheek. She just loved seeing him next to her each morning with his trusting face so close to hers, just purring away.

He suddenly developed a sickness and got so ill he had to be put to sleep. His lungs were filling with blood and he was suffering so. I took Puddy to the vet but after speaking to the vet and finding out there was no hope for Puddy, my husband went to pick him up after the vet put him to sleep. My Mom and I waited at home to hold him one last time before he would be buried in our back yard with a marker by his grave.

Puddy was a delightful cat, so full of fun, mischief and very lovable. He loved to be around children and no one was a stranger to him. People would often comment on how he seemed to enjoy being around humans. He wouldn’t run and hide like many other cats, he would make sure everyone saw him and lie on the floor allowing the children
to pet and play with him.

We will miss Puddy so very much. My Mom who is 88, misses him most of all. She often thinks she still sees him in her room. Who’s to say she doesn’t????

Love and miss you so much, my Puddy.
