The pain I’m feeling is like tears in my soul,
flooding my mind,not wanting to let go.
You loved me so much as I have loved you,
And now you are gone and I feel gone too
You tried to tell me something was wrong,
But I ignored the signs for far too long.
You were so brave, too much so it seems.
Why didn’t you cry out for help from me?
I betrayed you my friend but I hope that you know,
that I loved you so much, that’s why I hurt so.
It’s too late for you now, but I promise you this friend,
I will never ignore the needs of others again.
I pray for the day, it may take months or years,
that memories of you bring joy not these tears.
But I pray most of all that I when I walk down that ridge,
You’ll be there beside me as we cross Rainbow Bridge.
