As the winds of hurricane Katrina came on shore in Mississippi on August 29 2005 my thoughts were of you CoCo. As our home gave way to the force of the wind all my beautiful pictures of you were washed out to sea. Your collar, a lock of your fur and your soft bed were also swept away. Sitting in our hotel room watching all this happen on tv I felt your spirit with me. You had gone on to heaven in Feb of that year. I felt you watching over us. I was heart broken to think I would never be able to look at your face again in pictures. Then oneday I was looking at my Grandmothers old bible and a picture of you with your human sister Elizabeth fell out. I knew you sent it to me. The next day while at a thrift store I found a little grey stuffed poodle that looked just like you.
Katrina may have taken everything we had, but she could never take away your spirit.
For as long as there is love CoCo’s spirit will live on.

All my Love,
Suzanne Schultz
