"Our Darling Chico"
You came to us at a time when we really needed something to love.
You had been abused and were scared to death of people.
We soon had you coming to us and letting us pet you.
Then we discovered how you loved chocolate chip cookies
and Reeses peanut butter cups. I have seen you jump straight
up in the air just to get one. The vet said you could have 1 a day.
But we didn't tell him how many you really had.
It was just too hard to turn down those big brown eyes.
We always figured that you ran and jumped enough to work
off those few pounds especially by jumping thru the screen door
to greet us with your tail wagging and always oh so happy
to see us. Or we could hear your tags jingling as you
would run across the field when you heard our car drive up.
Always there to meet us with your loyal love.
We always felt so secure at night because Chico-man was
always on guard. Nothing came near us without you letting us know.
You slept in our bed and got way down under the covers to keep
my feet warm. I was always afraid that you would smother
under there but you wouldn't have it any other way.
Chico no dog on earth was ever loved more than you were.
We will always think of you. Always with fond thoughts and
pleasant memories and always with lots of tears now that you
aren't here anymore. You were more than our dog you were our
best friend our confidante and our youngest son.
We will always love you Chico Bandito and we will look
forward to seeing you again.
Until that day comes you remember that at least you had a
few very good years on this earth.
You always had plenty to eat a warm place to sleep and more
love than you knew what to do with. We just wish that we had more time.
We weren't ready to give you up yet and we know that you weren't
ready to give us up either.
But we will be together again.
We love you Chico-Man
always and forever.
Love
Your family,
The Laudigs and the Kelleys
