Claire came to us after the death of her first owner Patrick. She and her “sister”” lived in New York with Patrick. They were rescued at different times by him from different areas. Little Phoebe came first to him and then Claire. They lived happily with Patrick for about 2 years when he took sick. He had surgery and a second surgery and did not recover. So you and your “sister” Little Phoebe came to live with us. We were so glad to have you in our home and you adjusted well. All was well for a little over a year and Little Phoebe got very sick. She had survived spleen cancer but was still frail and then she developed seizures and heart failure. We worked with the vet for over a year to make her well but it was not to be. We let her go to rest. You looked for her for awhile and then became more active and you seemed to enjoy the other dogs a lot. You had taken care of your sister for so long now you could be more relaxed I guess. You did so well for 2 years and then after getting a shot you got very sick. It seemed that you were developing heart failure. It was so hard to see my healthy baby get so sick in just a few days. We did all that we could to make you feel better and yet it did not seem that it was to be. On that November day we took you to be put down gently. It was so very hard Claire. I think in the end you may have developed cancer along with the heart failure. You understood it was time to say goodbye and we told you to go and Little Phoebe would be waiting there for you. We loved you dearly. I sure do hope you know how much you meant to us. We loved you dearly. RIP our little girl and know that your love meant so much to us!
