My Precious Angel “Coco”

Sleep softly my precious
my angel my heart.
I always will miss you
although we’re apart.
I spoke to you always
you listened so well.
You understood me
no word would you tell.

Your life has been full of love
from all three
But you always slept
in my bed with me.
You jumped in the bed and
soon picked your spot
Getting tangled in covers
wrapped up in knots

I’m glad for the warmth
your body gave me.
I cherish your kisses and
love do you see?
You had to touch me before
you could sleep
And no one will hurt you
This Promise I’ll keep.

Forgive me my Coco
my baby my love
For now we must share you
with God up above.
He’s waiting to take you and
make you whole.
Our hearts are breaking
because you must go.

We see that you’re tired
so old and so frail.
You are happy to see us
but you can’t wag your tail.
You’re having a tough time
to walk and to sit.
It’s not fair to have
you continue like this.

I’ll keep you safe in my arms
one final time
Then we will send you to heaven
and you’ll be fine.
We’ll think of you often and
in our hearts you’ll remain
Until we are all together again.

So sleep softly my precious
my angel my heart
It won’t be too long
that we are apart.
Come give me kisses while I am asleep
Forever my baby my heart
you will keep.
