CoCo came into my life in 1991.
The little grey ball of fluff was at the pound.
He was already 5 years old. He was trying to eat through the cage bars. I should have figured out what I was up against when my Mom let him out of his cage and he made a break for the door. She caught him by the little nub of a tail he had. After that we were always trying to catch him. My kids at first thought this funny. Then they would have to go catch him. My daughter began to dress him in baby cloths. This did not slow him down. He seemed to be enjoying running down the road in his pink diaper and matching hat. She even put him in a tutu. He would run full speed down the road until someone called him then he would stand up on his hind legs and dance.
The years passed, the kids grew up and moved on. CoCo began to loose his hearing, then his sight. I often found Kayla his doggie sister pushing him out of the closet, or where ever he had got himself stuck. She would push him back toward the house when he went to far in the yard. The kids told me it was time to let go. I was not ready to loose my little grey ball of fluff. Then one day I felt God tell me it was time to say goodbye. I took him to our vet who helped him cross over with ease. There is not a day that goes by I do not miss him. I lost all my pictures of him in Katrina. But he will forever be in my heart. I know that I will see my little grey ball of fluff again. Where he will run free into Heaven with me.
