Comet was the sweetest, most loving, gentle dog I ever knew. He gave nothing but unconditional love throughout his life and did everthing he could to make me and my mom happy. My friends say he was the dog that never stopped smiling, which was true. He loved life.
I remember he was the last puppy left out of his litter, so the owners sold him to us for $50 (his brothers and sisters went for $350). He was a little scrawny guy, with less hair than a normal golden, but nevertheless he was beautiful. My mom said he looked like a little reindeer. He grew up to be a beautiful, proud, handsome gentleman. He loved the park, walks, going on vacations with us, and just resting at our feet. Everyone loved him, and he loved them back. And he LOVED to give paw. You couldnt stand in front of him to long without his paw going up into your hand. And even if you put it back down, like a spring it went back up, all the while he had a huge smile on his face.He also loved to beg at the table. Food was his treasure. You could not eat something without him knowing it. Even if he was sleeping, he would wake up and come sit next to us, giving us those sad eyes, hoping for a scrap. He was hard to resist.
Comet had two K-9 buddies in his lifetime, first a cocker spaniel named JoJo, whom he loved like crazy. JoJo went missing one day, never to return. Comet took it pretty bad. Then Cherry came along, the bouncing baby chow mix who became his little sister. They loved to play and romp in the backyard. She helped keep him young
in his last years on earth.
Comet lived a happy life filled with love. He died one night, peacefully in his sleep behind our jacuzzi. It was his time and I believe he knew it. The night before his passing as my mom went out to feed him, he didn’t want to get up. Finally he did and walked to the edge of the jacuzzi, put his head up in the air, the most proud look on his face, turned around and went back to lay down. I believe soon after that he passed.
Comet this is you for buddy.
We love you SO much and
miss you terribly.
We will never forget you.
Love Always,
