Crackerjack {Mee-New} by Dena / MOMMY AND DADDY

I HAD ADOPTED YOU FROM A VET CLINIC. I WAS LOOKING FOR A CERTAIN TYPE, AND YOU WERE IT. BEAUTIFUL LITTLE KITTEN YOU WERE. GRAY AND WHITE, SOFT, AND FLUFFY. WHEN WE BROUGHT YOU HOME YOU HAD TO STAY IN THE HORSE TRAILER AT OUR PASTURE WHERE WE KEPT THE HORSES AT. WE WOULD GO FEED THE HORSES AND THEN PLAY THE REST OF THE TIME WITH YOU. YOU BECOME A VERY LOVING CAT. YOU ALWAYS MOVED WITH ME EVERYTIME ME AND YOUR DADDY (MY BOYFRIEND AT THE TIME) (NOW MY HUSBAND) WOULD NOT GET ALONE. YOU ACTUALLY MOVED THREE TIMES IN YOUR 5 YEARS ON EARTH WITH US.

IN THE WINTER YOU WOULD ALWAYS LAY CLOSE TO THE DOGS OUTSIDE AT NIGHT. THAT WAS SO CUTE SEEING YOU BALLED UP BY THEM. YOU WOULD ALWAYS HAVE TO EAT YOUR FOOD ON TOP OF MY WISHING WELL OR YOU CAME INSIDE. THE DOGS WOULD ALWAYS WANT YOU TO SHARE YOUR FOOD WITH THEM.

JUST THE LST FEW MONTHS WHEN YOU WOULD COME TO EAT SUPPER INSIDE YOU WOULD LAY BY OUR FEET OR JUMP UP IN OUR LAPS AND FALL ASLEEP. WE WILL NEVER FORET THOSE TIMES. JUST THE OTHER DAY YOU WAS HINDING UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE. THAT WAS CUTE YOU LOOKING AT US FROM UNDER THERE.

YOU WOULD ALWAYS FOLLOW US AROUND IN THE YARD JUST LIKE THE DOGS DID. YOU HAD SO MANY NICK NAMES, IT WAS AMUSING THAT YOU KNEW ALL THEM. FROM CRACKERJACK, TO MEE-NEW, KITTY KITTY, KE-KE. YOU KNEW ALL THEM.

THEN ON DECEMBER 3RD YOU CAME INSIDE THAT MORNING AND THAT NIGHT FOR BREAKFAST AND SUPPER, VISITING WITH US LIKE NORMAL AND THEN GOING BACK OUTSIDE. ON DECEMBER 4TH YOU DID NOT COME FOR BREAKFAST OR SUPPER AND I WAS GETTING WORRIED ABOUT HIM. I CALLED HIM AND CALLED HIM. IT WAS ALWAYS TO DARK TO SEE IN THE YARD, AND HE NEVER WENT FAR SINCE HE WAS FIXED AS A KITTEN. SO ON DECEMBER 5TH THAT MORNING I WENT LOOKING IN THE YARD FOR HIM AND I FOUND THAT HE HAD GOTTEN CAUGHT ON THE FENCE BY HIS COLLAR HE HAD TO WITH RABIES TAGS, AND PARISH LICENSE TAGS. YOU WERE DIED WHEN I FOUND YOU. YOU MUST HAVE BROKEN YOUR NECK TRYING TO GET FREE. WHEN I SEEN THAT IT WAS HIM I RAN TO HIM, HOPING IT WAS STILL ALIVE. BUT HE WAS NOT. HIS COLLAR WAS SO CAUGHT ON THE FENCE THAT I HAD TO TAKE THE COLLAR OFF HIS NECK TO GET HIM LOSE. I WAS VERY HURT WHEN I SAW IT WAS HIM.

HE WAS MY BUDDY AND MY FIRST CAT. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER ONE LIKE YOU. YOU ARE TO BE BURIED IN THE YARD BY YOUR BROTHER, PATCH A DALMATIAN THAT DIED ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO. REST IN PEACE MY MEE-NEW. TIL WE MEET AGAIN AT RAINBOW BRIDGE. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN AS LONG AS I LIVE AND TIL WE MEET AGAIN.

SORRY FOR MAKING YOU WEAR THOSE TAGS THAT HURT YOU.

WE LOVE YOU, MEE-NEW
