Daisy by Becka / Becka

Daisy was an amazing puppy. Even though she was spoiled rotten, she was very loving and loyal. She had the most captivating, most stunning blue eyes. My family bought her from a local “breeder” in our county. She was worth every penny, but unfortunately she died before she was a year old, due to poor breeding.

During the summer, Daisy fell ill and was not feeling well. We brought her to our local vet, but he was no help. So we took her to the Maryland Animal Emergency Hospital. The doctors ran tests, and said an infecton had taken over her body. Of course we were all in aw, how could this happen to our Daisy? After a day in the hospital, the doctors said it would be best if we left Daisy there overnight and see how she was in the morning. This took a dramatic turn for the worse. When we arrived home, we got a call saying Daisy was extremely sick, and she would have to have her kidney removed due to the severe infection.

Though, sadly, Daisy would not have a good chance of living, so we all heartbreakingly decided to put our beloved Daisy to sleep. It was heart wrenching. I was only 13 years old, and I wanted to be there with Daisy, but my parents wouldn’t let me go. I felt like I had betrayed her, making her feel like I left her there to die, and there was nothing I could do about it.
(But now I know Daisy understands I didn’t want, or mean, to hurt her, just love her.)So my dad just went to go pick her up. That night my dad returned only to bury her under the cedar trees with all her other past friends, and our other missed, beloved pets.

I think about Daisy every day, including all of my passed friends. Now she can run, play and swim with all of her puppy friends, and not have to worry about falling, sick,or hurting, or being tired. So until that special day, we’ll both be waiting to meet again and never leave out of each others sight.

I love you Daisy!!!
