Our dear beloved Dakota…..its only been a week and a half since you left us and I am just now able to write about you without breaking down. You were and will always be
“our special one”.
I miss looking into your golden brown eyes and feeling your paw on my leg every time I stopped petting you. Your personality will forever be with me and as I take my daily strolls, I still look down at my side and see your eyes staring up at me. I am so sorry that you weren’t feeling well the last couple months you had with us, and that final day was the hardest thing we have ever had to do. Daddy and I both had a very hard time, but we knew the lord was waiting for you to walk beside him in heaven.
As I looked into your eyes during your last breath, I knew you knew how much we all loved you and how special you will always be. You will always be a part of our family, and we know now that you are no longer feeling any pain and will continue to watch over us. We will love you and miss always Dakota. You were the best friend and best dog anyone of us could have asked for.
The kids thank you for all your love and for being their protector through all their growing years. Your loyalty will not ever be forgotten. Thank you for being
our “Dakota Boy”. We love you buddy!
