Eggroll by Connie Binion / Your family of humans and dogs

Eggroll came to our home on Halloween 2001; he was hungry starving skinny and dirty; he was declawed. We fed him on the porch; he came back the next day. We kept him; he would not use a liter box, he went to the door like a dog does, so we put him in a cat door. He loved that; we got him his own food dish and put it out of the dogs reach. He ate nonstop for hours; he was stuffed full. We had no name for him and a friend said jokingly he eggroll, I eat him, so the name, Eggroll it was.

This cat loved us instantly. He was playful; he would slap us and nip at us and cuddle. Nobody could read a book without him lying on the pages; we had to pet him and hold him. He and our long departed dog Bullet became friends, since Bullets passing in 2005, we have 2 other dogs and they are morning the loss of Eggroll as the rest of our family is. He has left a empty spot; he is missing. Every morning he would go outside with the dogs after, he had to be picked up and petted and fed. He would greet us at the door with the dogs when we got home. He loved to watch tv with us. Even though declawed he would bring me ground moles. He got very sick and could not eat his cat food so I made him chicken with home made broth and pureed. the local kfc gave him free for a week 1 chicken tender a day as this all he could or would eat; the cat never ate human food before this. He is in a better place now, but we miss him so much. We love you black cat Eggroll. He loved to chase shadows; let’s hope he is now.

Thank You Eggroll for picking our house,
Eggroll
