Erik, you were my Phantom of the Tanks. Yes, you were named after the Phamtom of the Opera. I even wrote ‘Box 5’ on you hidey house. You came to me on my birthday in 2007, along with your brother, Michael. You two lived peacefully together until January of 2008 and then declanned. I got a second tank for you and bought tank toppers
for both of my boys.
Erik, you loved running your wheel, digging in your Aspen bedding, and doing gerbil things. You were very active, running up and down the ramp from the tank to the topper. You also loved getting oats as a bedtime snack. This past January, you had surgery due to a large tumor under your tail. You lived a happy life after the surgery. It didn’t get you down at all.
This morning, I got up and you weren’t acting right. I had a feeling it was your time. I’ll miss you. You went to the Rainbow Bridge a couple of hours later.
Erik, enjoy the Bridge. You can run the wheel all you want, climb the wires, dig in your bedding, and anything else you want to do. You are now forever in the prime of your life. I loved you and enjoyed our time.
I'll miss you, my little Phantom of the Tanks,
