Dear Sammy Dog
It has been exactly one year since you left us and I can’t tell you how much we miss you. We always knew that when the day to say goodbye came it would be difficult, but we never expected it to be as heartbreaking as it has been. You were our “love dog” and my first experience with owning a pet. How perfect you were for me and vice-versa. Your mission in life was to be with us and nothing else mattered to you. Your doggie sister Zoe still misses you terribly as you can see it in her eyes. I don’t know that I will ever get over missing you. We were lucky that we had exactly one month after you stopped breathing that morning to love you, cuddle you and spoil you before your heart gave out and we had to bring you to the vet. We sang the song we made up about you as you went to sleep:
“Sambo, Mambo, you are the girl we love.
You are so special that we can’t stand it.
You are the girl we love.”
