Freebee by Wendy Goodman / Mommy Wendy

Freebee, you’ve been my most loved companion for over eighteen years. When we first met, you were a tiny kitten with huge ears and eyes that you hadn’t grown into. You grew into a beautiful adult who loved to cuddle and play and comfort me. Whenever I saw hurt or sad, you would know it and simply offer your companionship and love. In the past weeks, your health had begun to deteriorate and I knew that our time together was coming to a close.

I had to let you go into the arms of the Goddess yesterday and my heart is broken. I know that Bridgit will keep you close and hold you for me until we are reunited, that your pain is over and that you are whole and well again, but I miss you terribly.

I miss how you would wake me in the morning to feed you, or how you would take a spot on my pillow right beside my head. I miss your bright eyes, the way you would curl into me when you wanted a cuddle. Know that I loved you dearly and will never forget the joy you had brought into my life.

Always, with deepest love,
Freebee
