Gabriella by Caring Hearts Rescue and John & Bekye Eckert / All of us who loved you

Someone decided, for some inexplicable reason, that you were not worthy of basic medical care, and ignored a mouth full of abscesses and rotten teeth,
and your extreme thinness.

Someone else made your health, comfort and happiness a priority, and spared nothing trying to restore your health and vitality. Actually Caring Hearts Rescue and folks all over the country were contributing to your care and praying we were not too late.

Someone could abandon you to complete strangers, to be left to an uncertain fate.

Someone else tried to love you enough to heal your weakened body and broken heart.

Someone forgot about you, and probably had already picked out your replacement
when they gave you away.

Someone else looked forward to coming home to you every day, with a heart filled with gratitude for your presence.

Someone went on with their normal daily activities today, utterly oblivious that your weakened and ill body finally overcame your brave and adventurous spirit.

Someone else held you close, whispered sorrowful good-byes, and soaked your tiny head with tears as your sweet soul soared home to Heaven.

You moved into our home and hearts on the evening of March 6th and lit up our lives with your indomitable spirit and mischievous antics. You were a three pounds of delicate sweetness, but also spunky, and inquisitive, and totally fearless. Although we know you are now whole and healthy once again, we miss you so very much.

Good-bye sweet Gabriella and thank you for being here.
