George by The Henry Family / Michael

Georgie,

My Buddy! For over thirteen years you were there as one of my best friends in the world. I remember the day that Mom brought you home. You were supposed to be this highly trained dog who could do a laundry list of tricks. Little did we know that you only did those tricks when you felt like it and when there was a cookie involved. Hey! I admire that. Who wants to work for free. From that day on, whether I was still living at home or just home for a visit, you were always there to greet me with those beautiful brown eyes. You were always ready to play and to cheer me up
when I was feeling down.

I’ll never forget waking up almost every morning freezing because you had rolled yourself up in the blankets and left me without any. I will never forget how jealous you got when I brought Katie home for the first time. Oh George! I really miss you bud. I will always cherish our final day together on the porch swing at Grandma’s and on our walk at the park.

Thank you for chasing the ducks and eating your bananas. Thank you for the one final wonderful day full of memories that I will hold on to for the rest of my life. Thank you for letting me say good bye. After some time has passed the pain will subside and I won’t think of you as often.

Please don’t think that I have forgotten you. When I take a walk near a lake, when I eat a banana, when I see a duck swimming I will think of you. Someday when I grow old and my time comes I know that you will be waiting for me along other family that I have lost. Until then goodbye for now.

I love and miss you!
George
