Harley by Heather & Larry Wagner / Your loving family

Harley is a domestic cat who literally walked into our lives. One day while at work a kitten walked in the front doors looking for a home, so we adopted him. He was an ornery little being, so full of life and bound to show us he was boss. He was very vocal about his feelings, and loved to play with his older cat brother and the dogs.

Harley was the comic relief in the family, doing a fantastic job at putting a smile on people’s faces. When he played with his cat toys he would jump in the air and do flips very similar to a circus act. He loved to chase a person’s feet and when doing so he looked a little psychotic during his attacks (it was quite hysterical). Another side to Harley was that he had a heart of gold. He taught his adopted human sister what love is and how to get in touch with her heart. He loved to be apart of bedtime stories, and sometimes would meow as if he was reading part of the book.

Harley had a passion to be outdoors and would pace by the entry door whenever he saw someone trying to go in or out. Even though the entryway would be blocked by a person’s foot, trying to stop Harley from escaping, he seemed to get out with ease. When we tried to get him back into the house he would lead us on a wild goose chase until we finally caught him. Harley loved to roll in the dirt, bath in the sun, eat the bugs and run around the back yard as if he owned it.

During the last week of Harley’s life he had trouble going to the bathroom, so we took him to the vet. Thinking it was a urinary track infection we soon learned that his kidneys were not healthy. He under went surgery, with an awesome veterinarian and his assistant, but his body was unable to recover. On the fourth day of being in the hospital it was time to say good-bye. The doctor and assistant did all they could to nurse Harley back to health but his kidneys were not making positive progress. With a painful look on his face and his body severely bloated it was time to put his pain to rest. Harley was only 3 years old.

Harley leaves behind a family full of love. His family includes his mom and dad (Heather & Larry), brother Zach (12 yrs) and adopted sister Alyse (5 yrs). His animal siblings were feline brother Psych (10 yrs), Labrador canine brothers Daytona (5 yrs), Talladega (3 yrs) and Bristol (2 yrs), and Dachshund canine brother Freight (8 months). The nicknames given to Harley were Lil’ Bastard, Dirt Bag, Pain in the Butt, Harley Tarley and Bubba.

You brought us so much joy Harley!!
