HoneyDog by Gayle Ridderusch / Mama

On February 1st I not only lost my daughter but my best friend died also. The grief I feel is so huge.
Dear Honeydog,
I miss you so very much. I cry because I don’t have you to hold onto in my missing Dion but I know you had to go to help Dion find her way to Heaven. You loved her as much as she loved you. You were the best friend I have ever had. You loved me know matter what. You helped me through a mountain of lifes trials. I wrote this poem for you.
I’m so scared Mama
Can you send me our friend?
You know I can’t be alone.
We’ll just call it a lend.

I’m beginnig a long journey.
I think the path is bright.
I know she tends to wander.
I promise I won’t let her from my sight.

She is brave and warm.
For her softness and comfort
I so feel the need.
She gives me your support.

Don’t cry Mama,
We will be waiting for you.
With HoneyDog at my side
My arms outstretched for you.

HoneyDoggers, please take care of Dion for me. Lick her feet lots.

Loving you,
HoneyDog
